About
The positive, unique energy of Joanna LaForgia’s voice was consistently noticed in her first career as an information technology trainer. She became hooked on storytelling as she taught in classrooms and designed e-learning for major corporations across four continents. Clients often said that the sound of her voice made them feel safe.
Joanna is a native New Yorker who now calls Raleigh, North Carolina home. She volunteers at the North Carolina Reading Service, a Raleigh-based radio station for the blind and print-impaired. She narrates science fiction, children’s stories, and young adult novels; and she broadcasts the news live on the air.
When she’s not in the sound booth, Joanna enjoys hiking, kayaking, films, and—most of all–Acting. She performs on stage and behind the mic. There’s nothing Joanna loves more than making people forget who, where, and when they are and taking them on a journey that leaves them changed—a journey that blends her voice with a writer’s or director’s intentions.
Joanna’s experience with e-learning, explainer, narration, and announcing makes her the perfect choice for your next project — and her infectious youthful spirit allows her to thrive doing character work, too! Count on Joanna to light up your next message.
